Angie Hernandez Named Artistic Director of Overtime Theatrre, San Antonio
Angie Hernandez – Native San Antonio Theater Veteran – Becomes the New Artistic Director at the Overtime!
The Overtime Theater has found a new leader for its artistic vision heading into 2023! Angie Hernandez, a San Antonio theater veteran and long-time partner with the Overtime Theater, has agreed to step into the artistic director shoes and carry the Overtime forward into 2023.
“I am honored and excited for the opportunities that come with being artistic director for such a fun, unique group of creatives that call the Overtime Theater home,” Angie says, “I can’t wait to help cultivate and craft an engaging season!”
In addition to having worked with the Overtime since 2009, Angie has a history with the Magik Theatre where she worked for many years in virtually every capacity and at the Public Theater of San Antonio where she is currently the Development Manager. Angie has already jumped in with both feet at the Overtime, sifting through the hundreds of scripts of original works that have been submitted to the Overtime and are waiting to be reviewed.
Rob Barron, the current president of the Overtime’s board of directors, said, “Having Angie on board is the perfect way to carry the Overtime forward! She knows all of our history and has been part of most of it and so she knows where our past is and where we need to go from here. We could not be more excited that she has agreed to lead our creative team!”
Dedicated to providing original, innovative, and accessible entertainment at an affordable price, The Overtime Theater is a nonprofit organization with the mission of bringing “theater for the people” to the San Antonio community through new and thought-provoking stage productions.
