2023 Launch Party 

Come and celebrate the beginning of a new year with the Trinity St. Players

Hosted by the magnetic and inimitable khattieQ, the party will feature an art exhibit by local painter Kaci Beeler, a $1 costume sale, improv comedy by Escándalo, musical performances by khattieQ, and a scene by playwright Raul Garza. Plus, we’ll end the night with a karaoke party! 

 

(artist: Kaci Beeler)Join us as we gather to kick off another great year of art in Austin, Texas AND come to welcome our new Artistic Director Jenny as she kicks off her first year at the Trinity St. Playhouse.  Here’s the plan!

            3 - 7 pm LUSH! An exhibit of paintings by local artist Kaci Beeler. Opening Jan 28th and up through the end of April 2023. A sumptuous exhibit curated for the walls of the Trinity St Playhouse lobby by the one and only Wayne Alan Brenner. 

            3 - 5 pm $1 Costume Sale! Come to our pop-up shop and bring your own paper or reusable bag(s), fill the bag with costumes and props, then pay only $1 for each bag. Anything too big for a bag will be on sale, priced as marked. Proceeds benefit TSP’s 2023 season. 

            4 - 6 pm Entertainment! Come for the costume sale, stay for the improv comedy by Escándalo, musical performances including a song from our upcoming rom-com Desperately Seeking Comfortable Shoes, and a scene reading from playwright Raul Garza.

            6 - 7 pm Karaoke! We’ll end the evening with a karaoke party, led by our host khattieQ. Lyrics will be projected on a big screen in the theater!  

ABOUT OUR HOST:

khattieQ is a performer from Puerto Rico. Co-creator and star of 2020 Fringe New Play Prize winner Catalina La O Presenta: Now With Me, which features their original music. khattieQ has played as a professional musician with over twenty bands. Most notably they toured as drummer for queer femme core band The Tuna Helpers and played guitar and sang for punk band BLXPLTN. Professional theatre acting credits include Denim Doves and CASTA for Salvage Vanguard Theatre, Heaven Born Wind at the University of British Columbia, frank theatre’s Be-Longing and I Cannot Lie To The Stars That Made Me. They also hosted Rumble Theatre’s Untrue Stories Live Cabaret Series. Catalina La O has played the Queer Arts Festival, Ars Nova ANT Fest, and OUTsider Festival.
