Trinity Street Players, Austin: Departure of Artistic Director Ann Pittman Zárate

Artistic Leadership Transition at Trinity Street Players, Austin

 27 October 2021

Ann Pittman Zárate (via TSP)With equal parts gratitude and love, we want to announce that after 10 years as our artistic director and 16 years of service in total to First Baptist Church of Austin, Rev. Ann Pittman Zárate is moving on from Trinity Street Players to put down roots in Missouri.

Ann is the visionary who instigated the designation and design of our black Bbox theater on the 4th Floor of the church and made it available for use by the theater community of Austin, providing a literal platform for our city's expanding stories.

She led Trinity Street Players with artistry and grace through our formative years, dreaming big and committing to her love of artists, fellowship, and healing. Ann's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusivity changed the way we operate and committed us to an ongoing learning and practice of anti-racism and inclusion.

Ann is a driving force in the Austin theatre community, and we value her friendship, aesthetic, and support. We will miss her presence, guidance and voice on and off stage, and still hold out the hope that we may occasionally lure her back to town to perform again for our community.

Gratefully,
