Killeen Theatre Invites Applicants for Director and Music Director Positions

 

The recently rebranded Central Texas Theatre in Killeen, formerly Vive les Arts, has posted job descriptions for director and music director, no production or script specified. The theatre has an ambitious season planned for 2021-2022 (CLICK HERE to view) with seven mainstage productions and two "Jr." productons.

DIRECTOR

Job Description

The Director serves as a member of the production team by completing the following duties and responsibilities: - Completes and carries out a production concept including casting, set design, rehearsal scheduling, etc. - Submits a rehearsal schedule complete with production meetings and workdays prior to first rehearsal. - Attends all production meetings weekly throughout the production. - Oversees the production staff to ensure the production is up to standard by opening night. - Attends and manages strike of the show with the Technical Director. - Will contribute to the promotional efforts by distributing fliers, granting interviews, and any other promotional duties needed.(Click HERE to go to Facebook listing with link to application webform)

MUSIC DIRECTOR

Job Description

The Music Director serves as a member of the production team by completing the following duties and responsibilities: - Create, with a team, a rehearsal and production schedule and be present for all music and technical rehearsals and attend production meetings. - Rehearse music thoroughly before run-through rehearsals begin. - Provide vocal coaching to actors, as needed, during rehearsals. - Work with the Stage Director to define the production’s concept and articulate the concept through the music and ensure that the show is presented as intended by the playwright/composer/lyricist. - Work with stage management to ensure a safe and happy company.Click HERE to go to Facebook posting with link to webform application.
