Density512
Our Mission
Density512 is a music collective that blends Austin's vibrant live-music culture with imaginative programs for contemporary chamber orchestra. We craft a homegrown ATX classical music experience by performing in vital community spaces, supporting local artists, and giving context to contemporary music through its classical roots.
Since entering Austin’s new music scene in 2016, Density512 has presented numerous performances featuring world premieres and the works of living composers. Throughout that time, Density512 has remained committed to bringing music into Austin’s community spaces including breweries, children’s museums, art galleries, co-working spaces, restaurants, and theaters.
Density512 participated in Fast Forward Austin’s 2018 new music festival, in nine performances of Ragnar Kjartannson’s kinetic sculpture S.S. Hangover at The Contemporary Austin, and as featured performers in the Blanton Museum of Art’s Soundspace series. Other local collaborations have included projects with the Austin Chamber Music Center, Liminal Sound Series, Silent Films Out Loud, and Golden Hornet.
