Season Auditions for Tex-Arts Professional Series

TexARTS, located in Lakeway, TX, welcomes members of the Actors’ Equity Association and non-union performers to audition for the upcoming 2015 – 2016 season on Sunday, April 12, 2015. 


The season will include:

Seeking 5 Actors/Vocalists/Musicians with a country sound.  Please prepare a 32 bar country song that best showcases your voice and a 2nd contrasting selection.  Musicians are welcome to bring their own instruments and can accompany themselves as needed.

Rehearsal Dates:

RING OF FIRE - Rehearsals begin June 29th and are held every evening, including weekends, until opening. 

Performances are July 17 - 26, Friday through Sunday.

 

GUYS & DOLLS - Rehearsals begin July 27th and are held every evening, including weekends, until opening.

Performances are Aug. 14-23, Friday through Sunday.

 

STEEL MAGNOLIAS - Rehearsals begin Sept. 28 and will be held weekdays, and weekends, until opening.  Performances are October 16 - 25, Friday through Sunday.

 

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE - Rehearsals begin Jan. 25, 2016 and will be held weekdays and weekends, until opening.  Performances are Feb. 12 - 21, 2016

 

 


Auditions will be held Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TexARTS Kam & James Morris Theatre (2300 Lohman’s Spur, STE 160, Austin, TX 78734).  

Please prepare 16 - 32 bars of a ballad and 16 - 32 bars of an up-tempo in the style of the shows. To be considered for the plays, actors are asked to prepare a 2-minute monologue.

Bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided. Resume, headshot and proof of Equity membership required. EMC actors will also be seen. Nonunion actors are welcome and encouraged to attend and will be seen as time permits. Actors should be 18 years+.   Email employment@tex-arts.org with subject line “Auditions;” attach headshot/resume in PDF/Word format with preferred time.
