Characters Needed:
WAITER, Male, any age, snarky, fashionable, gay, and nosy.
SOPHIE, Female, late 20s, straightforward and a bit of a nerd, but angry at her father and looking for a fight.
EDGAR, Male, 50-ish, Sophie’s blustering father who wants to know her — unless that means effort on his part.
JAMES, Male, late 20s - early 40s, a mild, middle-management type with unsuspected depths of passion going wasted.
REBECCA, Female, late 20s - early 40s, James’ stunning, shallow wife with obvious malice getting fully exercised.
GRACE, Female, late 20s - early 40s, kind and witty, she tries to always do the “right” thing, even if it’s stupid or painful; James’ colleague.
NICK, Male, late 20s - early 40s, Grace’s rugged, unpolished husband who succumbs to animal impulse and doesn’t think too deeply about right or wrong.
CLAIRE, Female, 20s, an aspiring yuppie who has made a lifetime commitment to her dog, but isn’t as certain about her boyfriend.
WILLIAM, Male, 20s, Claire’s equally yuppie boyfriend who can’t decide what he wants, ever, about anything.
PATRICK, Male, 30-ish, urban, affluent and sophisticated, a bit too chic to be called “masculine,” with fussy tastes and precise habits.
LILY, Female, 30-ish, Patrick’s wife, also highly refined and a professional powerhouse, with similar tastes and habits, but she is more decisive.
