Death Race Inferno mashes up Dante's Inferno and the Post-Apocalyptic Game Show tropes of the 80s (Running Man, Death Race 2000, etc).
La Fenice, Austin's oft-nominated commedia dell'arte company, is auditioning for one role in their spring production.
Auditions Thursday, January 5, 2017, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
We don't do this very often! We're looking for one performer of any gender, ethnicity, age or orientation with a strong musical ability for the role of the Devil/Game Show host. Performer must play an instrument, and be able to provide accompaniment for the production. Successful auditionees will be comfortable with movement, improvisation, and devising in a supportive environment.
Production Dates:
Fridays & Saturdays, April 21st - [May??] 13th @ 10:30pm
Monday April 24th & May 1st @ 8pm
Additionally, we'll also be touring to the Big Bend region (all expenses paid) and a possible tour to the Midwest, dates negotiable.
Rehearsals:
Flexible scheduling, beginning in earnest early March, with some meetings prior for scenario building.
Compensation:
Rehearsal Stipend $500, plus
average of $500-$700 in production shares and tour stipends.
Audition:
Bring your instrument of choice and be prepared to show us your most shredding-est song along with improvised scenework with the cast. We'll be auditioning in three one-hour blocks, and it will be more fun than harrowing.
