CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE is a collection of comedies that touch on social issues and cultural flashpoints sometimes with an uncomfortable touch.

Auditions January 23 and 24, 1 pm-4 pm!

The cast will be an ensemble who will be called upon to fill the following roles:

SMART
Melanie, F, slacker, age 20-40
Alex, F, young motivated professional, age 20-40

CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE
Jill, F, age 19-30, college student, really earnest, ultra-narcissist
Dara, F, age 19-30, college student, strong, full of confidence, narcissist and enabler of narcissism
Justin, M, age 19-30, college student, amateur philosopher, the kind of person who would be a model for a character on Portlandia but would never watch that show but instead would watch a Korean one-man performance art piece based on Portlandia in order to be more authentic.

THE TRIAL OF JAMAL JENKINS
(characters can be any age 21-65)
Judge, M or F, uninterested in the proceedings
Prosecutor, M or F, very earnest
Dr Sehat Patil, F, medical examiner, straightforward and honest
Defense Attorney, M or F, clever but lazy
Officer Chad White, M, a prototypical police officer

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No appointment necessary.

Performances will be April 1, 2, 8-10, 14-16, 22-24, 28-30
