Lucky Woman
by Overtime Theater

Jan. 10 (2015)

Auditions are coming soon for two of The Overtime's latest productions: GLAAD to Know You by Lee Hurtado and Chad Green (dir. Morgan Clyde) and The Lucky Woman by John O'Neill (dir. Kelly Hilliard Roush)

Auditions for both shows will be Saturday, January 10th from 2-5 pm. General auditions will be cold readings from the script. Callbacks will be Sunday, January 11th from 7:30-9:30.

The Lucky Woman will run April 10th-May 16th. Rehearsal schedule will be announced soon.

Roles available for 4-5 women (2-3 in their 30-50's, 2 in mid-to-late teens) and 6-7 men (1-2 in their 40's, 5 in mid-to-late teens).

The Lucky Woman explores two worlds: a contemporary classroom at an alternative campus taught by Vivian Parker, who has recently returned to teaching after suffering an horrific family tragedy, and the dressing chamber of the Archduke Ferdinand and his wife, Sophia, as they prepare for their fateful trip to Sarajevo. As Vivian's students study the beginning of World War One, they decide to stage their own version of the assassination that never should have happened; the two worlds converge, and the students, with the Archduke and his wife, all participate in the reenactment of June 28th, 1914. As Vivian reflects on her own losses, she realizes the parallels between her shattered existence, and the murdered Archduchess and her orphaned children.

Come join us as we explore and give life to this exciting new piece!
