Casting 3 adult males, 2 adult females.

Gillian, her fun loving, deal making brother and her eccentric aunt are part of a small group of people who can actually cast spells and perform feats of super-naturalism. She casts a spell over an unattached publisher, Shepherd, partly to keep him away from a rival and partly because she is attracted to him. He falls head over heels in love with her. But witches, unfortunately, cannot fall in love, and this minute imperfection leads into a number of difficulties. Ulti-mately, she breaks off with her companions in witch-ery - much to the chagrin of her family, and especially her cat, Pyewacket - preferring the human love of-fered her by the attractive publisher. But before the happy conclusion of the romance, Gillian comes very near to losing everything dear to her. "completely enchantinga wonderfully suave and impish fantasy." NY Times.
