Applications for summer PR internship, Magik Theatre

Intern duties
Write and distribute news releases promoting Magik Theatre productions, special events, and marketing activities.
Assist with promotion of The Magik Theatre and its activities through social media networks.
Assist with development of collateral materials to support the Magik marketing program.
Assist with writing and distribution of The Magik Theatre’s e-newsletter.
Assist in updating and maintaining information on The Magik Theatre website.
Represent The Magik Theatre at special events and outreach programs.
Update and maintain Magik Theatre information on community calendars.
Support other Magik Theatre departments as needed.
Participate with The Magik Theatre in two public presentations to be scheduled by Bexar County.
At the end of the internship, prepare and submit an overview report covering experience, tasks learned, and benefits received.
Other duties as assigned.
Required skills and knowledge
Good communication skills, including excellent writing skills
Working knowledge of social media outlets and principles
Basic knowledge of public relations principles and techniques
Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop
Bilingual English/Spanish a plusInternship requirements
Marketing Intern Position - The 2015 Bexar County Intern Program, facilitated by the ArtsFund
Through a grant from the ArtsFund, the Magik Theatre has a full-time paid Marketing Intern position available. Under supervision of the Marketing Specialist, the Marketing Intern will assist with all aspects of marketing and public relations for The Magik Theatre, a non-profit professional children’s theatre in San Antonio, Texas.

Term of internship June 1, 2015, through August 7, 2015, forty hours a week. Intern must commit to this term.
Intern must reside in Bexar County.
Intern must be an undergraduate at a community college or four-year college or university, have completed at least one semester of college, and must not have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher prior to June 1, 2015. (NOTE: Although the intern must be a Bexar County resident, he or she may attend a college or university located outside the county and still be eligible to apply for the position.)
Intern must participate in two public presentations as required by Bexar County.
Intern must prepare and submit an overview report at the end of the internship period.
