Chekhov is alive and well in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where adult siblings Vanya and Sonia reside in their old family home, mourning their lost dreams and missed opportunities. When their often-wrong, fortune-telling maid warns of impending dangers, and their movie star sister, Masha, arrives unexpectedly with young, sexy, boy toy, Spike, the family is launched into a rollicking weekend of one-upmanship, exposed nerves, and a lot of broken mugs. With wit and absurdity, Christopher Durang’s Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike blends Chekhov’s famous ennui with the modern-day toils and troubles of celebrity, social networking, and age into a laugh-out-loud comedy that will tickle your funny bone and stimulate your mind.

Auditions: Monday Jan. 20th, 2025 7:00-9:30pm and Tuesday Jan. 21st 7-9:30
Callbacks only if needed.
Rehearsals: Monday February 10th. Mondays-Wednesdays 7-10 and Saturdays 11-2
Tech/dress: Monday March 17-Thursday March 20.
Opening: Friday March 21, 2025
Run 3 weeks Thursdays-Sundays. Until April 6th.

Roles:
Vanya: 50-60 male. Disappointed with his life, smart and diplomatic. Keeps a lot of feelings to himself.
Sonia: 50-60 female. She was adopted into the family when she was about 8. Insecure about her looks and often seems bitter or depressed, but she reveals a playful side at times.
Masha: 50-60 female. Sibling of Vanya and Sonia. Successful actress and movie star that has a glamorous life. However, she has insecurities. She’s feeling older and vulnerable and she’s had five unsuccessful marriages.
Spike: 25-30 male. He and Masha have been “dating” for three months. He is genuinely attracted to Masha but his eye does wander. He is full of life and extremely comfortable with his body…and he likes people looking at him.
Cassandra: Female, any age, any race. Vanya and Sonia’s cleaning woman. She can see the future…or at least some of it. She cares for Vanya and Sonia and doesn’t trust Masha.
Nina: Female, late teens-early 20’s. Neighbor of Vanya and Sonia. She is an aspiring actor that is young and full of hope. Has a friendship spark with Vanya.
