Fairview
by Ground Floor Theatre

Dec. 10

Fairview revolves around the Black middle-class Frasier family who are getting ready to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Beverly needs everything to be perfect but Dayton has brought the wrong silverware, the carrots aren't ready, the radio is acting up and Tyrone might not make it at all. You'd be forgiven for thinking that the headline of the play is a look behind the fourth wall at the workings of an ordinary family, but Fairview has much more to offer.

Ground Floor Theatre

Announces auditions for

Fairview

by Jackie Sibblies Drury

December 10, 2024 at 6 pm by appointment

Ground Floor Theatre (GFT) is holding auditions for our next production, Fairview by Jackie Sibblies Drury  and directed by Anderson. Fairview  is a sharp and provocative play that examines race, surveillance, and power through a gripping and unexpected narrative. The story follows a Black family, preparing for their matriarch’s birthday party while increasingly surreal interactions reveal unsettling truths about privilege and perception. Blending dark humor with social commentary, Fairview challenges the audience to confront their own complicity in systems of inequality, offering a bold critique of how we engage with issues of race in contemporary society.

GFT is seeking actors to fill all roles.

Auditions will be held at Ground Floor Theatre (979 Springdale Rd at Airport) on December 10th, 2024  6 – 9 pm with a possible callback (if needed) that same week. Auditions will be by appointment only and will consist readings from the script.  Sides will be sent to you before the audition.  When scheduling an audition, please tell us what roll you are interested in. Email lisa@groundfloortheatre.org to schedule.

All positions are paid an honorarium of $1000.00.

Ground Floor Theatre is committed to inclusivity and as such unless specifically called for in the script, we cast without consideration to ability, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, size, or shape. If able, auditioners should bring a resume and headshot with them.
