Wait Until Dark

A thrilling and suspenseful play by Frederick Knott, Wait until Dark will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The play is set in 1960s Greenwich Village and follows Susy Hendrix, a visually impaired woman who becomes the target of a group of criminals searching for a hidden doll filled with heroin.

Character Descriptions:
Susy Hendrix: (Late 20s-early to mid 30s) A recently blinded woman who becomes resourcefully determined to survive when she realizes she is being manipulated by con men.
Gloria: (11-14) A tough and spirited young girl that lives in the apartment next door to Susy and Sam. Young actors older than 14 may audition for Glora if they can play the age range.
Mike Talman: (Late 20s-early to mid 40s) A smooth-talking con man who tries to deceive Susy.
Carlino: (30s-50s) An experienced and tough criminal, Mike and Carlino have worked on cons together before.
Harry Roat: (30s-50s) The experienced and calculated mastermind behind this criminal scheme. He poses as different characters throughout the play in order to con Susy.
Sam Hendrix: (Late 20s – early to mid 30s) Susy’s husband, a photographer.
Police Officers: Two police officers (age can vary) that investigate the crime scene.
Rehearsals will begin September 2. Please bring your availability to the auditions.
Performances are scheduled for October 18-27, 2024.
Actors of all ethnicities and genders are encouraged to audition.
