(via Amazon.com)With energetically witty English verse throughout, Anthony Burgess’ translation of this well-loved 19th-century French classic about the swordsman-poet with the nose too large to be taken seriously was first acclaimed in the 1985 Royal Shakespeare Company production starring Derek Jacobi, then in the revival with Antony Sher in 1997, as well as providing the subtitles for the film version with Gerard Depardieu.


Cold Frame Collective announces video auditions for Edmund Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, translated for the stage by Anthony Burgess. Auditions close Friday, June 7th, 2024 at midnight. More information and audition form at coldframecollectivetheatre.com.

AUDITION INFORMATION:

Please share an approximately one-minute comedic monologue showing range. This does not necessarily need to be classic. Actors of all ethnicities and gender identities are highly encouraged to audition. We are also looking for actors that play instruments (not required to audition).
