JARROTT PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR POTUS (or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive).
POTUS is Selina Felinger's riotous comedy about the women in charge of the man in charge of the free world.
This hit Broadway comedy will be staged just in time for the November presidential election!
Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 from 10am-2pm.
Callbacks Sunday, March 24th at 6pm.
Auditions will be held at Trinity Street Playhouse, located on the 4th floor of the First Baptist Church of Austin, 901 Trinity Street
Rehearsals for POTUS will begin on or about September 9th, and will be presented at Trinity Street Playhouse October 17th through November 3rd, 2024.
The submission deadline for in-person auditions (no video submissions will be accepted) will be Thursday, March 21st, at noon.
The characters in this play are all female-identifying adults 35+, and may be played by actors of any ethnicity, with the exception of Margaret, who should be in the 40-60 age range and black.
The Characters in POTUS are:
- Harriet, his chief of staff
- Stephanie, his secretary
- Bernadette, his sister
- Margaret, his wife
- Jean, his press secretary - this role is already cast
- Dusty, his dalliance - this role is already cast
- Chris, a journalist - this role is already cast
Please submit for only one character. The director may ask you to read for other roles, if time allows. You will receive a reminder email prior to the audition date.
