Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
by Gaslight Baker Theatre
Jan. 20 - Jan. 22
In a plantation house, the members of the family are celebrating the 65th birthday of the Big Daddy, as they sentimentally dub their patriarch. The tone is gay. But the mood is somber. For a number of old evils poison the gaiety—sins of the past, greedy hopes for the future, a desperate eagerness not to believe in the truths that surround them. The truth invariably terrifies them: That is one thing they cannot face or speak. The evening ends with fireworks and well-kept secrets being revealed.
Auditions for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams
Directed by Eric Beck
Auditions will consist of group cold readings from the script.
Actors seeking the parts of Margaret and Big Daddy should prepare a 60-second monologue for auditions.
Please do not audition using a Southern regional accent. The director wants to hear your natural speaking voice, and accents will be worked out during the rehearsal process.Characters [detailed and additional descriptions are forthcoming]
