Important Dates
First rehearsal: Saturday, September 9th.
Tech Rehearsals: Saturday - Sunday, September 23 - 24
Tech/Dress: Tuesday – Thursday, September 26-28
Opening Night: Friday, September 29
Closes: Sunday, October 15th.
Performances at 7:30 pm on Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
Rehearsals will be held weekday evenings from 6:30 – 10:30 pm and during the daytime on weekends at TexARTS in Lakeway. The show will perform at the TexARTS Kam and James Morris Theatre, 2300 Lohman’s Spur, STE 160, Austin, TX 78734
Contract
Some SPT1 Equity Contracts Available ($255/week)
All nonunion roles are paid a weekly rate ($160-$225/week based on rehearsal hours)
Preparation
Please prepare two contrasting monologues not to exceed 2 minutes total. Equity members, please present your card at check-in.
Breakdown
Seeking 5 playful and flexible actors of all genders, abilities, shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and races. Members of the Actors’ Equity and nonunion actors will be cast. All positions are paid (Equity SPT1, non-union $160-$225/week).
Casting: 5 Actors
Sherlock Holmes – our take on the timeless detective. All actors/genders considered.
Dr. Watson – Holmes’s faithful partner. All actors/genders considered.
Actor 1: to 15 characters including Dr. Mortimer, Lucy, and Man with Black Beard
Actor 2: to play 9 characters including Sir Charles, Daisy, and Sir Henry Baskerville
Actor 3: to play 14 characters including Floria Tosca, a German Maid, and a Baby
Experience with dialects, heightened language, and improvisation is preferred.
