Thank You and Have A Nice Day
by Summer Break Theatre

Apr. 23 - Apr. 29 (2023)

The weather is nothing to worry about. ...Or is it?

"Meteorologists have determined there is stuff falling from the sky so please be cautious if you venture outside.
Inclement weather is imminent please be advised. Thank you andhave a nice day."

This is a darkly funny piece with fast and witty dialogue, focusing on the absurd and sometimes satirical twists of human nature during times of crisis. The relationships here explore our forgiveness and faith in each other... and kolaches. And there is a puppy. 60 minute play- fun cast and script!

Original, commissioned play by Monroe Oxley - former tech director of Hutto ISD, currently at Southwestern University.

Directed by Jon Demitchell.

Non-Union job - Pay: $300 - Rehearsals are just 2/times a week until tech weekSeeking male-identifying actors to audition for 1 (one) available male role to play 40's+-50, in the upcoming premiere of Thank You, and Have a Nice Day Monroe Oxley. All actors are welcome and educators strongly encouraged to apply.

Role: James Christopher - to play 40's+-50
The guy we 'love to hate.'  Sharp, quick witted. Carries resentment toward his wife Molly & everyone around him; at times in a prickly funny manner that we just cannot help laughing at. Works from home and shows increasing signs of resistance to going outside- revealing a mysterious vulnerability underneath the 'asshole' exterior. James is not subtle in his exchanges. Should be comfortable with quick and self-effacing dialogue.
