Submissions from this round of auditions determine the titles of the two live shows and inspire the story of the original movie musical.

    High School and College Age Students

    Performers: Musical Theatre & Film
    Tech Crew: Film and Stage - Costumes, Props, Lighting, Audio, Scenic & Stage Management
    College Interns: Production, Arts Administration, & Management

Performer

In the audition form, you will be asked to submit the following:

• A Headshot (or recent photo) 

• Your Resume

• Two references (contacts)

• Some video uploads

PERFORMER OPTIONS

You can audition as one of the following:

#1 Full Auditioner

#2 Dancer/Ensemble Audition

#3 Mover Audition

*Songs must use live accompaniment or tracks. No a cappella please.

A breakdown of submission requirements is below:

#1 FULL AUDITION:

SONGS

-SONG 1 (Required): 16-32 bars of a pop/rock musical theatre-style song

-SONG 2 (Required): 16-32 bars of a contrasting musical theatre song written between 1950 and 1990.

-SONG 3 (Optional): 16-32 bars of a song that best shows your unique vocal style and personality. What do you love to sing? A song you love from Spotify? or church? a song you've written? country? pop? classical musical theatre? Rap? Just sing something that reflects your enthusiasm/passion!

MONOLOGUE

-MONOLOGUE 1 (Required): A contemporary monologue (under 60 seconds) from a published play. No Shakespeare. Choose something that shows a role you could actually play.

-MONOLOGUE 2 (Optional): A contrasting monologue (under 60 seconds) from a published play. Only add this one if you need an additional monologue to show the versatility of style, emotions, character, etc.

STORY & STATEMENT (We wanna get to know you.)

TELL US A STORY (Required): It can be about anything… a funny story about your family, a touching story about a teacher, a silly story about your friends, just tell us a story. (Under 90 seconds)

-STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (Required): Why do you want to participate this summer? What would you bring to the program? What do you hope to gain/learn this summer? Do you have any specific interests? (Under 90 seconds)

 

DANCE

-DANCE 1 (Required): Dance from Gaston - learn from the teach-through video and film yourself performing the combo. Pay attention to style and storytelling.

-DANCE 2 (Required): Dance from That Girl - learn from the teach-through video and film yourself performing the combo. Pay attention to style and storytelling.

-DANCE 3 (Optional): Do your own thing (strongly suggest this if you enjoy dancing) Choreograph something for yourself or freestyle to your favorite song. Show your style and personality in this dance. Have fun. (Under 60 seconds)

Crew

In the audition form, you will be asked to submit the following:

• A Resume 

• Current photo

• Two references (contacts) 

• A digital portfolio (if you have one) 

• Video uploads.

In the form, be sure to add a link to your digital portfolio (include any photos, videos, documentation, etc.) to show your experience in the area(s) for which you'd like to be considered. Link to a dropbox or google folder. Be sure you change the settings to include everyone with a link.

 

Internship

In the audition form, you will be asked to submit the following:

• Headshot (or recent photo),

• Resume

• Two references (contacts)

• A digital portfolio

• A cover letter

 • Video upload
