110 Stories by Sarah Tuft
A Staged Reading directed by Shaela Leggett-Bresett and David Schneider
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of September 11th, we are producing a staged reading of Sarah Tufti's docu-play. The script features the actual words of dozens of everyday people and how they were affected by that tragic day.
Since this is a staged reading, actors will hold scripts for the production and will not be required to memorize lines. However, we do want the actors to create clear and compelling characters and to know the script well enough to create an emotional bond with the audience and their castmates. Actors will do most of the work on their own (with input from the directors), but there will be a handful of in-person rehearsals as well the production dates (listed below).
This is a great opportunity for people interested in getting onstage but who are not yet ready or able to participate in a full production. It's also a opportunity for first-timers, voice actors, and others.
THE FEMALE ROLES FOR THIS SHOW HAVE BEEN FILLED. We are looking to fill the male parts.
Auditions will consist of cold readings of the script. Bios and headshots are not required but will help the directors gain knowledge of your abilities.
Final auditions: Monday, June 28, 6:30 p.m.
Auditions and performances take place at Gaslight-Baker Theatre, 216 South Main Street, Lockhart, Texas
Production dates: 3 performances--Saturday, September 4, at 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday, September 5, at 2 pm.
