The Pirates of Puerto Rico
by Puerto Rican Folkloric Dance & Cultural Center
Aug. 19 - Aug. 26 (2020)
The Pirates of Puerto Rico is a bilingual play based in history and myth of the adventures of Pirate Cofresi -- the Robin Hood of Puerto Rico (~1825) -- who stole Island riches back from the Spanish galleons and shared them with the poor.
Production will combine live music, dance, community theater -- AND SWORD FIGHTING -- to bring awareness of often-forgotten elements from Puerto Rico's rich history and heritage.
