Nunsense begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which is currently set up for the eighth grade production of Grease. Featuring star turns by each of the nuns, tap and ballet dancing, an audience quiz, and comic surprises, this show has become an international phenomenon. 

Auditions for FTC's Summer Finale Nunsense will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater, located at 1668 Highway 87 South in Fredericksburg. For auditions you will need to prepare a song about two minutes long. You may choose a song from the show, or another song that shows your vocal range and abilities. A CD player and MP3 hookup will be available. A keyboard will be available if you'd like to bring your own accompanist. No a cappella auditions please. There will be dance/movement auditions, so please dress accordingly. 

 

NOTE: Prior tap dance training is NOT a requirement to be cast in this show. Simple tap combinations will be taught at the audition. Tap shoes will be available at the auditions for use. If you have your own tap shoes, please bring them.  

 

 

Schedule:  

A detailed schedule will be provided when the show is cast. Rehearsals are typically held Monday through Fridays, starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending around 9:00 p.m. 

 

In June and early July, not everyone will be called for each rehearsal due to music solos, duets, trios and choreography-focused rehearsals.

 

July 29 - August 2 and August 5-7 are Technical/Dress Rehearsals. For the success of the production, attendance Tech/dress rehearsals and at all performances is mandatory for the entire cast and crew.
