The off-Broadway award-winning show, RUTHLESS! is about eight-year-old  Tina who knows she was born to play Pippi Longstocking in her third-grade musical and will do anything to win the part. Judy, Tina’s adoptive mother, discovers that her birth mother was a famous actress. Judy decides that she should be famous as well and becomes a Broadway diva. Will they both become Broadway stars?  Spoofing such films and musicals as All About Eve, Gypsy, and Mame, lots of songs, dancing, laughs, farce, and comedy abound!

A Special Audition Invite! RUTHLESS The Musical, Marvin Laird’s and Joel Paley’s wild musical comedy that proves some kids will do anything to become a Broadway star…ANYTHING!

Time:  Sunday, April 8, 6 – 10 pm. Tuesday, April 10, 7 – 8 pm.
         *Sign up for a time slot at the top of each hour (4 – 5 per hour)
      *Call backs by invitation Tuesday, April 10, 8 – 10 pm. Dancing and 
Readings *Show dates: June 15 – July 8
*Bring headshot, resume, and two contrasting songs. 
Bring sheet music or prepared accompaniment.    



Character information:

Must have strong comic acting ability and strong singing voice.

Tina Denmark: Female ages 9 and older, beltress, mezzo soprano/alto. 
Must tap at advanced beginner level.

Judy Denmark: Female, age range upper 20s-40s, Part Doris Day, part Mary 
Tyler Moore in archetype.  Tina’s mother and secret Broadway prima donna. 
Soprano.

Lita Encore: Female, age range 30s and over, Ethel Merman type, strong 
beltress and comic. Alto/Mezzo Soprano.

Myrna Thorn/Reporter:  Female, age range 20s and over, Mezzo 
Soprano/Soprano, strong character comic timing.

Sylvia St. Croix:  Male role (in drag) upper 20s-40s. A broad comedy talent 
with a big voice.  Tenor.

Betty Lerman/Eve:  Female, age range 30s-40s Mother of Louise, Tina’s 
classmate, and Ginger’s assistant.  Mezzo Soprano, Soprano.

Directed by guest director Jim Lindsay. Choreography by Laura Lund.
