Auditions for William Shakespeare's Hamlet
- AUDITION DATE: Sunday, Oct. 8
- STARTING TIME: Time slots, 6pm-10pm. Auditions by appointment only.

- AUDITION DETAILS: Please prepare a 1-minute monologue from any Shakespeare piece, or other classical work. The focus here is to see how the actor handles “heightened” language and demonstrates the ability to make it sound active, natural, and interesting while presenting a believable character.
- Auditions will be held at The Vex, located at 12500 NW Military Hwy., on the lower level of the Campus of the San Antonio Jewish Community.

CHARACTERS NEEDED
The Vex production of Hamlet has been in the works for several months and one round of auditioning/casting has been completed for the following roles: Claudius – Jim Mammarella, Gertrude-Theresa Bishop, Hamlet-John Stillwaggon, Ophelia- Chelsea Steele, and Polonius- Michael Howard.
This Oct. 8th round of auditions is for all the remaining roles including Laertes, Horatio, The Ghost, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, Bernardo, Marcellus, courtiers, players, guards, gravediggers, etc. These character’s ages range from the 20s on up.
CASTING DIVERSITY NOTE: Because of the “alternative-world” Steampunk genre… this production is going to be open to gender flexibility, race, and age options for several of these remaining roles depending on appropriate chemistry and acting abilities.
FINAL CASTING: All roles will be cast on a volunteer basis only.

Performances
- Show Dates: February 10th - March 4th, 2018
- Performances are Thursdays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 8pm, & Sundays at 2:30pm. There may be one tentative Sunday evening performance.
- Call time is one hour before curtain.
