A Tuna Christmas
by Navasota Theatre Alliance

Sep. 18 - Sep. 19 (2017)

The hilarious holiday production, "A Tuna Christmas," was written by Ed Howard, Joe Sears, and Jaston Williams. The award-winning show features just three male actors playing over twenty eccentric characters of all ages (and sexes).

Taking place in the made up town of Tuna, Texas, A Tuna Christmas is both an homage and a satire of small town southern living during the holidays. Local radio station personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on the town’s Yuletide activities. The Tuna, Texas annual Christmas Yard Display Contest has been thrown a curve by a mysterious vandal who sabotages the displays. Meanwhile, the townsfolk try to manage their own crazy holiday turmoil, including family woes, probation problems, and an ill-fated production of “A Christmas Carol.” This is wildly funny holiday entertainment for grown ups.

Navasota Theater Alliance will hold open auditions  at the Sunny Furman Theatre at 104 W. Washington Ave. in Navasota, TX on Monday, September 18 and Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 6:45 pm. We are auditioning for three male actors to portray 22 characters.

In addition to the actors, director Mark Taylor is recruiting skilled costumers and seamstresses/seamsters, set designers, wardrobe/makeup/wig assistants (several will be needed for this fast-paced show), stage manager and stagehands.
