On a quiet autumn night, The Fellowship has gathered in celebration of their progress on The Path toward true enlightenment, eager to hear the inspirational words of their charismatic leader. As a troubled young woman finds her way into The Fellowship, she makes the painful discovery that this leader, and the group she’s unwilling and unable to leave, are not as benevolent as they seem...
Mercurial Theatre is announcing open auditions for our next production, No Soul Abandoned, an original work by Justin M. West, the writer/director of Mercurial Theatre’s 2016 fall hit, Let the Dead Now Speak.
No Soul Abandoned is an immersive theatrical exploration of the power of faith and suggestion. Drawn into the performance through relatable discourse and guided interaction, audiences will be challenged to explore their preconceived notions on indoctrination and belief.
Some roles will require a moderate amount of improvisation, which will be well-informed based upon core concepts of the play. Prior experience with improvisation is a plus, but is not required.
Actors should note that the play deals with concepts relating to religion, dogma, and indoctrination.
Auditions will be held by appointment on Saturday, August 12, and Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 1-3 pm at

Sides will be provided in advance of and performed during the auditions; no monologues needed.
Rehearsals will begin August 14 and will occur twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8-10pm; extra rehearsals may be added during tech weeks. Performances are scheduled for late October through mid-November; a venue has been selected but is pending announcement.

Bill - 30’s+ - Preacher; older; defacto leader of The Fellowship; charismatic, warm
Samuel - 20s-30s - Fellowship member; guides new recruits along The Path; wry, but stern
Abigail - Teens-30s - Fellowship member; enthusiastic, naïve, fully buys into the program
Adam - Teens-30’s - Newcomer, uninitiated; hesitant, shy
