Cthulhu Too: The Stranger in Yellow
by Overtime Theater

Jun. 03 - Jun. 04 (2017)

Directed by Edward E. Wise II
Story by Justin Bankston & Edward E. Wise II
What began in The Bride of Cthulhu continues in Cthulhu Too: The Stranger in Yellow.

Emma and her cousin Holly face their toughest adventure yet, a quiet life. It isn’t long before they invite danger into their home. With the aid of former groundskeeper, turned heir to the estate, Samuel, they must unravel the mystery of who the Stranger in Yellow is before it’s too late. And where is Cthulhu in all this. Closer than you think.

Cthulhu Too: The Stranger in Yellow is a comedy wrapped in cosmic horror, exploring the unique and ever expanding universe that is the Cthulhu Mythos. Inspired by the stories of H P Lovecraft, The Stranger in Yellow is told from the perspective of those whose stories are noticeably absent in Lovecraft’s work, women and people of color.

Listed below are the characters’ approximate ages and in some cases their ethnic background. This should not discourage actors from auditioning for roles thatdon’t exactly match their ethnic background or age.

Cthulhu Too: The Stranger in Yellow - a series - Scene One Preview

One of the reasons we love the Overtime is because it produces only original work. However, it's sometimes hard to build excitement over a show you know practically nothing about. Stranger benefits a bit from being the continuation of the story that begun with The Bride of Cthulhu which premiered at the Overtime in the fall of 2015.

Still you may be asking yourself, why would I want to audition for this show? What characters are returning? Are there new characters and are any right for me? This is a sequel? How was a I supposed to know that since the playwright thought it would be clever to use "too" instead of "two," as if I wouldn't notice he stole that concept from Gregory McDonald's Fletch book series? Wait, there a series of books that inspired that Chevy Chase movie? You mean that guy from Three Amigos?

These are all valid questions. We hope a few of these will be answered with this selection from the our new show.
