Something magical has happened this December. A hardworking, talented group of actors and writers are getting an amazing gift. For the Minds' Creative, the present comes in the form of a play. Under the Christmas Tree, their first original work will be performed for audiences for the first time in Martindale's Cottonseed Deli and Cafe.
The creative minds behind this original work are as varied as the stories that they wrote and bring to life. Yet, they are all united by a love to share a well told story with live audiences. Creating an acting troupe has been a long time dream of actress Terri Bennett, veteran of stage and film. She first enlisted her life partner and stage actor, Steve Lawson, a CPA in his other life. Together they reached out to actors and other people they admired to invite them to join an actors' and writers’ troupe that would travel and serve communities in the Central Texas area. “Everyone we asked to join us said YES!", Terri remembers. Founding members of Minds' Creative include Jason Jones, David Young, Monica Leo, Brent White, Susan Lay, Candice Carr. These talented folks also make up the cast of Under the Christmas Tree. To round out the evening, Jonathan and Christa Tucker will add their lovely voices to entertain audiences.
