A Wolverine Walks Into A Bar is a collection of monologues, each one having a different director. Among the directors are, Linda Donahue, Professor of the School of Theatre at Texas Tech University, Robert Tolaro, a Broadway veteran and former student of Paul Baker at Dallas Theatre Center, and Kristen Rogers, PhD candidate in directing from Texas Tech.
Some of the pieces refer to San Antonio, where I spent my formative years in theatre; the idea of conversations in bars, where the tongues tend to loosen and the memories bubble up, was too appealing for me to pass up.
The performance space will recreate a bar-like atmosphere with some audience members seated around small tables. Don’t worry. Nobody will be pulled from their chairs and forced onto the stage.
