Los Frutos de la Muerte - The Breakdown Play
by Glass Half Full Theatre
Nov. 01 - Nov. 15
Austin audiences are invited to Frutos de la Muerte, a daring work-in-progress from Glass Half Full Theatre. Puppetry, movement, and vivid Guatemalan storytelling come together to explore identity, inheritance, and what rises from decay.
This intimate, immersive experience invites reflection and conversation. As a work-in-progress, Frutos de la Muerte offers audiences a first look at a raw, thoughtfully crafted draft of the show, giving your readers a rare chance to share their thoughts and help shape Austin’s evolving arts scene.
Duration: 60-80 minutes, including a performance and an optional space for feedback afterwards.
Recommended for ages 14 and up.

In the heart of a storage unit, two Guatemalan sisters uproot layers of memory and mycelia. Through puppetry, movement, and uncanny fungal moments, Ixq'anil and Isabela grapple with inheritance, identity, and what emerges from decay, Come if you like fungi, Guatemalan (or Latino) culture, puppets, or bilingual theatre.
What does a work in progress / muestra mean?
This is a space for us to share a raw, yet thoughtfully assembled draft of our piece, and to receive feedback from our audiences. In other words, the play will be drafted, rehearsed, and built, but it won't be fully finished. This gives you the opportunity to offer your thoughts at the end, formally or informally.
