Into The Woods

We want to make a “big splash” when The Cailloux Theater re-opens after the construction to replace the roof and Heating/Air Conditioning system. We think Stephen Sondheim and Joseph Lapine’s Into The Woods is just the show to do it!

Into the Woods starts with a mashup of multiple stories from the world of fairy tales – Jack and The Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel and The Baker’s Wife, to name a few.  Then, in Act II – after the “Happily Ever After” – it explores the very real consequences those characters might have to face.  Remember, “no one is alone.”

On Broadway, Into the Woods was nominated for 10 Tony Awards and earned 3, plus 5 Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Book, Lyrics, and Musical.  Revivals have won 21 Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk and Audience Choice Awards, and its 2014 film version , starring Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Johnny Depp, and more, broke box office records.
