As the summer 2025 world premiere of Latino Comedy Project Artistic Director Adrian Villegas’s long-awaited new solo show Hispanic Republican Male: Into The Pendejoverse draws nearer, Villegas returns this spring to his comedy origins with a very special encore of the original solo show that paved the way to the LCP’s historic twenty-five year body of work: Six Mexicans Named Gonzalez.

The satirical multimedia solo show’s themes of pop culture exclusion, family relationships and racial politics past and present remain all-too-relevant in 2025, and Six Mexicans Named Gonzalez explores it all through the multi-generational prism of the Mexican-American experience.

“A perceptive, political writer and a talented, versatile performer…Villegas is unafraid of confronting the specter of American racism…Plus, he’s pretty damned funny while he does it.” – Barry Pineo, The Austin Chronicle

Villegas portrays the show’s six outrageous characters, a vivid and instantly recognizable collection of individuals ranging from an impetuous young “gangsta-vato” to a feisty Tejano World War II veteran, all linked together by a cleverly edited series of film and video clips illustrating the notorious history of Latino stereotypes in American TV and films from Charlton Heston to Cheech and Chong.

“Touching and hysterical…A whirlwind tour…Villegas is a joy to watch as he brings to life these six Gonzalezes.” – Adrienne Martini, The Austin Chronicle

The performances will also include behind-the-scenes stories from Villegas about the show’s creation and the surprising real-life inspirations behind the show’s unforgettable characters. It promises to be a hilarious and inspiring evening.
