Our 22nd original, bilingual play is based in Puerto Rican oral and documented history. Inspired by the life of Luisa Capetillo, this historical fiction honors early 20th century female union leaders who fought for the rights of women and poor agricultural workers.Set in the mid 1970s and circa 1918, our annual mainstage production will combine original live music, dance, community theater, and Cocobalé -- STICKS & MACHETE FIGHTING -- to bring history to life and honor unsung heroes!
