“We don’t have to talk. We shouldn’t talk. It’s best if we don’t. Just don’t… leave me here. I know you need it too. Someone nearby.”
Venus, And What Else Is Nocturnal follows a series of interrelated characters, including a disaster prepper who obsessively boards up his windows against storms, slowly being consumed by a fear of water. Across town, the lonely moderator of a local gossip website develops a strange love for her newest target and implodes when she realizes it isn't mutual. A dead high-school golden boy recounts the swimming stunt that cost him his life while immortalizing him as a legend. As the characters’ lives collide, the line blurs between the digital and physical worlds, exploring the strangeness of loneliness and legend telling in a small town.
Directed by BIlly Malloy.
