The Picture of Dorian Gray
by Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT)

Sep. 14
Saturday

(via FCCT)ARTS for Rural Texas (ARTS) and Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) are thrilled to announce the upcoming portrait exhibit “Wilderness of Mirrors” by local artist Phoenix Kooper. The exhibit will also include a live Reader’s Theater performance of The Picture of Dorian Gray by FCCT actors. Reader’s theater is a form of performance that is similar to a radio show, where actors read the script aloud without the use of costumes or props, allowing the audience to focus on the storytelling and vocal expression. The Picture of Dorian Gray is adapted for radio by George Lowther from Oscar Wilde’s classic gothic novel. This unique format will bring the play to life in an engaging and imaginative way, surrounded by Kooper’s portraits, faces, beauty and youth.

The Reader’s Theater performance of “The Picture of Dorian Gray” is September 14 and stars Scott Toensing. Scott was voted "Best of Fayette County Actor 2024" and has participated in over eight productions with FCCT. Get tickets to see him perform in this unique performance in collaboration with ARTS for Rural Texas's portrait exhibit “Wilderness of Mirrors” by local artist Phoenix Kooper.
