Fridays-Sundays
Despite having never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered the dog. His detective work takes him on a thrilling journey that turns his world upside down.
The Curious Incident… explores questions that surround those who are “neurodivergent” in a profoundly moving play about adolescence, fractured families, mathematics, colors and lights.
The plays tells of how young Christopher Boone, an autistic math prodigy, must navigate a frightening world to investigate the mysterious death of a neighborhood dog, assisted along the way by a sympathetic school mentor.
"Christopher" was the first leading role on Broadway to be played by an openly autistic actor, Mickey Rowe. He went on to document the experience in his book Fearlessly Different.
P2K's production also features an autistic actor in the lead role. Emery Dorman is a graduate of Incarnate Word's theater program, and been active in both theater and film in the Hill Country. You may have seen her in Villainous Company or the award-winning Blind Date.
In another life-to-stage parallel, Christopher's teacher "Siobhan," is played by real-life special education instructor Rebekah Remlinger, who has appeared with P2K in A Sanders Family Christmas and others.
Others in the cast include Chris Diste, and Meg Ellisor-Traverso as "Ed" and "Judy," Christopher's estranged parents; Heather Cunningham, Gilbert Chris Burgess, David Cummings,Emily Olson, and Laura King as "Voices" 1 through 6, representing all the other characters in Christopher's life.
