This man's name is Andrew Jackson Potter, and you know just by looking at him he was up to something interesting. And he very much was. Known by some as the "fighting parson," the Tilmon resident discovered the preaching life after many far-flung and colorful adventures and before his dramatic demise. (via GBT)The Caldwell County Historical Commission's popular Speaking of the Dead event moves inside to GBT. This annual fundraiser helps the commission run its many programs, including the Caldwell County Museum. Local actors will portray real people from the county's colorful past, giving a glimpse of what life was like for people in decades gone by.
