White Christmas
by Georgetown Palace Theatre
Nov. 16 - Dec. 30, 2018
Fridays-Sundays
Georgetown’s Historic Palace Theatre presents the classic and heartwarming musical White Christmas live on stage for your holiday enjoyment. You can enjoy a holiday tale of romance, friendship, love, and laughter as you follow WWII veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis on their journey to spread Christmas cheer alongside the duo of beautiful singing sisters, Judy and Betty Haynes. Many folks watch the 1954 movie of White Christmas each year as a part of their ritual of Christmas celebration. This year the live stage production at The Palace Theatre in Georgetown can be added for extra holiday spirit!
Music & Lyrics by Irving Berlin
Book by David Ives & Paul Blake
Based Upon the 1954 Film by Paramount Pictures
Written For the Screen by Norman Krasna, Norman Panama, & Melvin Frank
With Ron Watson as Director, Rose Yurcina as Music Director, Jesee Smart as Choreographer, and Jessie Drollette as Stage Manager, White Christmas live on stage at The Palace promises to serve up a delicious evening filled with holiday delight! Gorgeous costumes from A Cut Above Costume Design and a lavish set designed by Ron Watson and Michael Davis – painted by the superb Barb Jernigan – make up a feast for the eyes! Faith Castaneda’s beautiful lighting design, combined with sound design by Aaren Horak and video design by the intrepid Rich Simms, round out the desired effects. Orchextra Conductor Lannie Hilboldt provides his usual superb musical direction.
Creighton Moench returns to The Palace for the role of Bob Wallace in White Christmas. Last seen on the mainstage as Daddy Warbucks in Annie, Creighton has also portrayed ‘Jesus’, ‘Lumiere’, and ‘Mordred’ in other Palace productions – as well as leading roles with Trinity Street Players, Austin Theatre Project, Zilker Hillside Theater, et al. Justin Dam plays Phil Davis in White Christmas, teaming up with Creighton Moench as Bob Wallace. Most recently Justin played the role of Robertson Aye in Mary Poppins, as well as a host of other Palace ‘plum roles’. The lovely and talented twosome, Veronica Ryan (Betty Haynes) and Samantha Ricker Watson (Judy Haynes) will tap dance their way into your hearts! Scott Poppaw is thrilled to appear as General Henry Waverly in this, his third Palace production.
The Palace is most appreciative of the generous sponsorship of WHITE CHRISTMAS by Joanne and Bill Harrah, longtime Palace supporters. Community Impact Newspaper was a Season Sponsor for the Palace’s 2017-2018 Season, and they will also sponsor the full 2018-2019 season.
