Skeleton Crew tells a story of change and personal loss due to economic difficulties; all who have worked hard and long at their jobs will relate to the characters in the play. At the start of the Great Recession in 2008, one of the last auto stamping plants in Detroit is on shaky ground. Each one of the four workers has to make choices on how to move forward if their plant goes under. Power dynamics shift as the plant manager is torn between doing right by his work family, and by the red tape in his office. Powerful and tense, Skeleton Crew is the third of Dominique Morisseau’s Detroit cycle trilogy, The Detroit Project.

Following the reading there will be a short discussion with actors and audience. Parking is free but limited.

Skeleton Crew is funded by the City of Austin and is presented in coordination with the Dougherty Arts Center. Note: The play is for mature audiences.
