Third Annual Handmade Bikini Fashion Show: The Unmentionables
This is Glass Half Full Theatre's Third Season in Austin, Texas, and 10th year as a company. Come celebrate the past three years (22 award nominations, a few Chronicle Top Ten mentions, tripling our COA funding, Two Jim Henson Foundation Grants, Three Creative Fund Awards, Four Puppet Slam Network Grants, receiving the Visionary Vivifier Award, Outstanding Original Script, and Outstanding Direction awards. Celebrate the future: an invitation to perform at the 2015 National Puppetry Festival, upcoming performances of The Missionary Position, a comic faux lecture series by Caroline Reck and Cami Alys; our new piece opening in February called Simple Sundries; and two collaborations with Zach Scott Theater for Youth (The Six Seasons and Cenicienta).
THE EVENT: A handful of East Austin Theater's most creative designers show off bikinis/ frocks that represent undergarments, real or imagined, from the year 1901. This party is a pre-production event for Part Two of The Missionary Position: Pleasure Journeys for the Intrepid Lady Explorer.
Tucked in around the Main Event Fashion Show are Victorian Parlor games, drinks, snacks, artist renditions of your silhouette, a Phrenology booth, and lessons in the art of Victorian Fan Flirtation. Musical selection from Award-Winning Sound Designer k. Eliot Haynes.
