Fredericksburg Theater Company (FTC) is a nonprofit community theater in the Texas Hill Country.

The Mission of FTC is “To provide superior theatrical programs for regional participation which entertain, enrich and inspire.”

The Executive Director is responsible for the consistent achievement of the organization’s mission and financial objectives. He/she serves as general manager of the company with oversight responsibility for the theater and office facilities, three staff members, the financial stability, the education programs and the productions of the company. The Executive Director reports directly to the FTC board of directors.

The candidate who is selected to fill the position will possess substantive successful experience in managing an organization, preferably a cultural nonprofit. That experience will demonstrate excellent skills in organization, leadership and communication along with strong knowledge of budget and financial management.

Other factors for major consideration will be demonstrated experience in marketing, fundraising, public relations and the ability to motivate others. Important qualities are sound judgment, creativity and a professional attitude toward the job and the theater. The incumbent must have a passion for community theater, and more specifically for the mission of this theater. An understanding of the elements of producing a successful show is important. To perform the job, knowledge of computers and the ability to learn and use various software programs is essential. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment is very important.
