Executive Director – Cultural Activities Center

The CAC seeks an experienced nonprofit leader who can build on its rich history and move the organization into a new phase of impact through visionary leadership, thoughtful and effective communications, and a deep commitment to the arts community.

Desired Experience and Attributes

Ideal candidates will bring to the position various attributes, knowledge and skills including:

  • -  Visionary leadership with ability to build connections among board and staff to reach organizational mission and goals.

  • -  Nonprofit management and fundraising expertise, including experience diversifying revenue sources.

  • -  Collaborative leader and relationship builder who can comfortably connect and engage with CAC members, organization and community partners, donors, and our board and staff.

  • -  Ability to establish credibility and build trust with diverse populations and stakeholders.

  • -  Genuine connection to the mission and goals of the CAC and ability to be a passionate advocate within the community.

  • -  Experience working with a Board of Directors to help an organization meet its mission.

    Although not required, experience serving as a nonprofit Executive Director will be considered an advantage.

    Job Description

    The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the effective leadership, management and financial security of the CAC.

    In administration and management, the Executive Director will:

  • -  Implement strategic planning, goal-setting, and metrics to ensure consistent progress and success.

  • -  Build and support a dedicated, engaged team through energetic, inclusive leadership and a positive, encouraging spirit.

  • -  Ensure the staff is supported and held mutually accountable for CAC’s success through sound human resource practices.

    In fund development and marketing, the Executive Director will:

  • - Guide a successful fundraising strategy that diversifies the CAC’s base in the areas of foundation, individual, and corporate donors

  • -  Write and/or delegate and supervise the search for /pursuit of /writing of underwriting grants

  • -  Communicate thoughtfully with stakeholders, donors and collaborators to raise the profile of the CAC and increase visibility in the Temple/Bell County community.

    In program development and administration, the Executive Director will:

  • -  Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day administration of programs and organization excellence.

  • -  Ensure maintenance and security of official records and documents, in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and funder requirements.

  • -  Ensure staff and Board have adequate liability protection for activities engaged in on behalf of CAC and the Board.

  • -  Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field to assess impact, appropriately support and guide staff, and ensure appropriate communication with the partners and the community.

    In budget and finance, the Executive Director will:

  • -  Be responsible for applying and maintaining sound financial practices

  • -  Manage resources in a thoughtful, effective manner to ensure that CAC is

    able to carry out its work.

  • -  Provide leadership in developing program, organizational, and financial plans

    with the Board of Directors and staff, and implement plans and policies

    authorized by the board.

  • -  Establish goals, metrics and regular reviews of progress toward all financial

    and operational goals.
