Business Manager

JOB SUMMARY 
This position is responsible for managing the business aspects for TexARTS. This includes bookkeeping, media creation, benchmarking, insurance administration and purchasing.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll & Bookkeeping 

  • Processes Bi-Monthly Staff/Faculty payroll working with accounting service. 
  • Ensures appropriate documentation of faculty time sheets, payment authorization and reimburses staff for authorized expenses in a timely fashion. 
  • Tracks all bills and invoices -- Obtains payment authorization and ensures invoices are paid on time. 
  • Coordinates and synchronizes Quickbooks. Posts and transacts tuition, private lessons, and master classes 
  • Oversees accuracy of bank deposit documentation and makes bank deposits. 
  • Ensures all end of the year tax information 1099's get to contractors. 
  • Works with CPA to prepare 990 for the organization.

Graphic & Media Interface 

  • Works with Graphic designers to create artwork for playbills, posters, and advertisements 
  • Updates and manages the website and social media 
  • Analyzes and Benchmarks the competitive landscape in the arts to identify trends and opportunities

Administrative 

  • Prepares and maintains personnel files for all team members, including all legally required documentation and insurance coverage record 
  • Coordinates the maintenance and repair of facility, including working with property managers, and scheduling outside vendors and contractors. 
  • Coordinates with insurance broker to ensure all insurance policies are effective, economical, accurate and updated.

Qualifications 

  • A minimum of three years' experience, preferably with a nonprofit. 
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks. 
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work-flow, and meet deadlines. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Ability to perform in a small, team environment, while working independently. 
  • Must possess integrity and great customer focus.

Production Manager

JOB SUMMARY 
This position oversees the cost effectiveness and planning of the entire production process for our professional and academy productions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Responsibilities 

  • Establishing the production calendar for TexARTS (professional and academy productions) including rehearsals and performances. 
  • Securing Required facilities for rehearsals and performances 
  • Securing the rights to present the productions 
  • Managing the Box Office. 
  • Creating & seeking opportunities throughout the year to fill the theater during lulls in the production schedule ll (i.e. parties, meeting space, community events)

Fulfilling the Company Manager Role 

  • Responsible for negotiating employment contracts in all aspects of production as well as filing the appropriate paperwork 
  • Designs and Implements Production Sets 
  • Manages the Volunteer needs (including ushers, concessions, backstage personnel) as well as setting up front of house for the performances. 
  • Responsible for hiring production personnel, setting expectations, auditing, and evaluating performance to expectations 
  • Holds applicable meetings to drive the production plan and rehearsal process, communicates with the staff and appropriate audiences 
  • Budgets and reports the financial accounting of the show's expenses and revenues

Designers and Production Personnel

TexARTS is accepting resumes for our spring and summer 2015 season. Applicants must be available for technical and dress rehearsals as well as for performances. This posting lists multiple jobs; all jobs are on a contract by contract basis.

LIGHTING DESIGN and OPERATION: 

  • Degree in Theatre Design/Technology or relevant field OR compensatory work experience 
  • Experience in youth theatre 
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills 
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues 
  • Ability to work with a creative team

SOUND DESIGN and OPERATION: 

  • Degree in Theatre Design/Technology or relevant field OR compensatory work experience 
  • Experience in youth theatre 
  • Possess strong communication and organizational skills 
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues 
  • Ability to work with a creative team

ALL CREW 

  • Expected to be present and ready at least 1 hour prior to show, and 10 min prior to rehearsals. 
  • Expected to have all hanging/focusing, troubleshooting and other technical aspects completed prior to call times.

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Jobs are on a contract by contract basis.

Technical Rehearsals: April 23rd and 30th from 4:30pm to 8:30pm 
Dress Rehearsals: April 24th and May 1st from 4:30pm to 8:30pm 
Performances: April 25th @ 2pm, April 25th @ 6pm, April 26th @ 2pm, May 2nd @ 2pm, May 2nd @6pm, and May 3rd @ 2pm

7 Year Itch - Annual Showcase 
Tech/Dress Rehearsals: May 15th from 4pm-9pm and May 16th from 10am -- 4pm 
Performances: May 16th @ 6pm, May 17th @2pm and May 17th @ 4pm.

Variations 
Technical Rehearsals: May 20th and 21st from 4pm-8pm 
Dress Rehearsal: May 22nd from 4pm-8pm 
Performances: May 23rd @ 2pm and May 23rd @ 6pm

Beauty & the Beast JR. 
Technical/Dress Rehearsals: Begin on or about June 17 
Performances: June 19th - 22nd at 6 p.m. and June 20 - 21 at 1 p.m.
