Dr. Michael McKelvey Accepts Tulane University Post and Will Direct Summer Lyric Theatre
Posted on May 21, 2015: I have notified the Point Park administration, my fellow faculty and a number of my students - so I guess it is safe to officially announce this.
Starting in August 2015, I will be the new Artistic Director of the Summer Lyric Theatre and a musical theatre/voice faculty member at Tulane University in New Orleans.
To all my Pittsburgh friends - thank you for welcoming me to the city and theatre community. Trust me - I'll be back!
To my ATX/DMP Family - I will now be SOOO MUCH CLOSER!!!
To SNOW - we were never friends, but you look pretty sometimes.
To my theatre/musical theatre colleagues - you are all tremendously talented and it has been a pleasure to work with you for four years.
To the COPA Voice Teachers - I love you all. First time I have ever experienced voice teachers (especially 15 of them) all getting along and realizing the reason we do what we do - THE STUDENTS!
TO MY STUDENTS - YOU ARE AMAZING AND WHAT I WILL MISS MOST ABOUT THE BURGH. Just remember, I HAVE BEEN AND WILL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU!!!
