Conspire Theatre Grants & Arts News

Thank you for helping Conspire Theatre dismantle stigma and shed light on the stories of women who have been incarcerated.

We end 2015 with some big news!

In 2015 we taught classes for women at the Travis County Correctional Complex, led workshops at the Women's Community Center of Central Texas, performed for V-Day, WE Con Austin, and Leadership Austin, and began development and performances of a new play called Mothers & Daughters, which explores the effects of incarceration on mothers and families in Texas.

BIG NEWS for 2016!

Conspire Theatre is a recipient of a Travel Grant from The Network of Ensemble Theaters! Conspire Artistic Director Michelle Dahlenburg will meet twice monthly via Skype with theatre artist Alirio Zavarce (Adelaide, South Australia) to exchange and discuss their companies' methods of devising and play development with participants who have experienced incarceration. In June 2016, Zavarce will visit Austin for two weeks to help Conspire finish developing Mothers & Daughters.

Mark your calendars for Conspire Theatre performances June 29 - July 1, 2016!
