Arts In Context - El Taller documentary

KLRU will screen the documentary Arts In Context - El Taller,  which focuses on Proyecto Teatro Theater Company. Proyecto Teatro aims to make the arts accessible to the entire community, regardless of income levels, and to reduce social and cultural differences of society.  For the company's actor and director Luis Armando Ordaz Gutiérrez, creating a space that leads to human development through through the arts was his main goal when he created Talleres Infantiles, a year round Spanish language art program for mostly for low income students.  They follow a group of students and volunteers for a year as they work together to improve their community while maintaining their culture alive.

Film at 7 p.m., followed by discussion with the director Mario Troncoso in the AUDITORIUM
