Admonition: Want to Vote on Austin's B. Iden Payne Theatre Awards? Sign Up by August 31, 2016.

Letter from the Executive Director

We have one meeting left before the B. Iden Payne Awards Council meets to put the ballot together. As another exceptional year of Austin theatre winds down, I want to take the time to remind everyone how balloting will work this year.

There will be NO public ballot this year. People not on this mailing list as of August 31st will not be eligible to vote in the fall. This means that now would be a good time to reach out to your colleagues in the community who may not be on this list to ensure that they've signed up. 

Our Minimum Standard of Care and Artists' Bill of Rights are undergoing a final draft before we release it to the public, and will go into effect as of September 1st. Productions not meeting these Minimum Standards will not be eligible for nominations, so it's in the best interest of producers to familiarize themselves with these standards prior to mounting productions. We will be sending an email out as soon as they are ready for consumption. Additionally, we will be holding a Town Hall meeting after this season is underway to walk the community through these Standards, and we welcome your feedback.
