In Memoriam: Liegh Hegedus Toland

The Baron’s Men mourn the loss of Liegh Hegedus Toland. Liegh joined the troupe in 2009 as Miranda in The Tempest. Later she trod the boards over a dozen times, directed, costume designed, and served multiple terms on the Board of Directors. We are forever grateful for her love of theatre and dedication to TBM.

May her memory be for a blessing.

It is surely true that only the good die young. Many people come and go during the different seasons of our lives and some make an indelible mark on our hearts and minds. Liegh was one of those special people! I worked with Liegh over the years at a few different theaters around Austin. She always had a spirit of fun and a smile that gave you no other choice but to smile back. A quick wit and wickedly funny sense of humor, kept you laughing all night backstage. It’s been a few years since we worked together and I was looking forward to our next conversation. Alas, it was not meant to be, as you have now taken your final bow. It was a pleasure to know you and call you my friend. Rest well as those you leave behind remember you with love.

"Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet princess, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest"

William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act 5, Scene 2
